Percussive Connections

2022

The proposal 'Percussive Connections' aimed to promote virtual activities in the field of percussion, including workshops, masterclasses, and lectures. With a duration of 2 months and a defined budget, the initiative was presented in two countries, with the aim of democratizing access to music education and discussing topics such as inclusion, representation, and contemporary challenges in percussion.

In the context of the pandemic, the proposal explored changes in the musical landscape post-2020, emphasizing the importance of (re)construction, inclusion, and female representation, as well as the representation of people with disabilities and the LGBTIQ+ community in percussion.

The objectives included providing practical workshops, discussions, and creating a sustainable virtual environment for the continuity of the proposal. Accessibility was prioritized, with all activities conducted remotely and adaptations made for participants with special needs.

Democratization was emphasized through broad social media promotion, and participation was free, ensuring permanent access to recorded sessions. The technical team was diversified, incorporating representatives from different social groups to promote inclusion and diversity in the project.
